SOCIAL VALUE is about more than making commitments – it’s about making a difference that can be seen, felt and measured.
That belief sits at the heart of how we want to grow at Shape, and we are proud to announce the promotion of Jane Friery to Associate – Head of Social Value.
For Jane, social value is much more than a job title. It reflects something she has championed throughout her career, using engineering, education and opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference to people and the places around us.
Jane is passionate about sustainability, inclusivity and education and has many years of outreach experience, encouraging children and women to explore opportunities in STEM. She has also played an active role in mentoring and supporting junior engineers throughout her career, helping the next generation to develop their skills, confidence and careers within the industry.
Her engineering experience is equally diverse, spanning bespoke timber design, major cultural projects and the preservation of historic buildings, alongside experience in life-cycle assessments and sustainable design. This combination of technical expertise and genuine passion for people makes Jane ideally placed to lead the next stage of Shape’s social value journey.
In her new role, Jane will build on the work already taking place across Shape and help us turn our ambitions into meaningful and measurable outcomes. She will work closely with our team, clients and partners to identify where we can make the greatest difference and create more opportunities for everyone at Shape to get involved.
Whether through mentoring, STEM engagement, volunteering, supporting local communities or making more sustainable choices through our engineering, we want the work we do to leave a positive legacy.
Jane’s appointment represents an exciting next step in that commitment, with much more to come as we continue to develop our approach to Engineering Positive Impact.
Congratulations Jane – a thoroughly deserved promotion. We are excited to see where you take the role.
ENGINEERING POSITIVE IMPACT.
